Preview of Week 12 in M1W
Preview of Week 12 in M1W, after a ropey week 10, Neil and I, we gone most of our ducks in a row last week. Though week 12 could be pivotal with some interesting fixtures in all parts of the table. Once again we are in general agreement over the fixtures only disagreeing on one, that being the Friday night game, so to that one first:
Stourbridge Lions v Droitwich: Neil has gone with the home team; I’ve backed Droitwich to win away. Firstly, all the little things should favour the Lions, but I’ve gone for Droitwich, my reasoning being that they will target this game as one they can win, and they have turned good performances in several games almost coming away with wins, with the Lions form recently tonight may be their night.
Of course the Lions will be looking for a big crowd and a win to steady their own form. There is also the incentive that a win in this game will be significant on the league table.
To Saturday’s games there are fixtures that have an element of if not must win then it would be good to win this one.
Malvern v Moseley Oak: Home win, though Oak’s recent form is unpredictable, and Malvern will point to week 10. Though this game is about the points the winners will move closer to 11th place Droitwich, who themselves are playing 10th place Lions, so whatever happens in the two games there will be a closing of the gap. Though, we expect Malvern to find their scoring touch, and Oak to have a chance, but to come up short.
Newbold on Avon v Longton: Home win, we expect NoA to get back in the groove, and they should have too much for Longton.
Old Halesonians v Hereford: Home win, these two teams are 5th and 6th 3 points apart, so that points to a close game. Old Hales are coming off a good away win at DK, and Hereford have stuttered recently, combining this with some astute tactics from Old Hales we plump for them just.
Sutton Coldfield v Bromsgrove: Away win, form says it all, but Sutton have a game that can trouble any team in the division on their day.
Whitchurch v Worcester: Home win, once again form points to a home win, but with the Friday night result in Worcester may well be inspired, they certainly will want some points from this one.
That leaves the Constable Dai game; he’s off to Stoke with DK.
