Review of Week 12 in M1W
Review of week 12 in M1W, well Neil got 4 of the games right to my 3, and cut my lead to one point. The league table is starting to produce three groups of teams, though that can still change, there is a long way to go.
First to the Friday night game, which was the one game we disagreed on.
Stourbridge Lions 43 Droitwich 17: A good win for the Lions after four defeats in a row, and the bonus point, a good night for the Lions. Droitwich have shown that they can trouble most teams but they need add a level of consistency to climb the table.
We agreed on the rest, though we did get two results wrong, they were:
Malvern 24 Moseley Oak 32: We both went with Malvern for a home win, though we have found that Oak are really difficult to predict. Perhaps this result highlights Malvern’s position at the moment, they need to find an effective balance between defence and attack and to use their experiences in the first half of the season to plan the second half of the campaign.
Old Halesonians 27 Hereford 33: We expected a close game but a home win, it looks like Hereford did the job on the day, and it sees Hereford leapfrog Old Hales.
The other three we picked correctly.
Newbold on Avon 78 Longton 0: No surprise in this one.
Sutton Coldfield 10 Bromsgrove 15: A closer game than we thought, and ‘grove have lost top spot. Sutton will have some mixed feelings over this one, and a losing bonus point will bring some solace.
Whitchurch 44 Worcester 29: Whitchurch continue their good form and will be pleased with their position in the league. Worcester like some to the teams around them need to put some results together to ensure they pull clear of the bottom three.
Constable Dai was at Stoke to watch an enthralling game which was in doubt until the final whistle, Stoke on Trent 18 DK 17.
